Who we are

EAT supports emerging practitioners in Film and Theatre Industries in the Wellington region, encouraging the development of high quality creative work.
It is a charitable trust and was established in 2007.

EAT’s objectives are

  • to benefit the Wellington region film and theatre sectors
  • to provide and develop opportunities for networking and mentoring
  • to provide financial support to artists by through the distribution of grants (not 2010)

Mentoring Coordinator and EAT Administrator

Sally Thorburn: Sally has a wide range of experience in the cultural heritage, visual, digital and performance arts. She has a post-graduate Diploma in Museums, a Certificate of Professional Photography and a BA in History and Art History.

Board of Trustees

Charlotte Larsen Charlotte is the founder of EAT. She is also the Creative Director and owner of Random Films and an actor, director and producer of film and theatre. Wellington born and UK bred, Charlotte achieved a BA in Theatre and Film a Victoria University and has trained at the University of Southern California (Directing/Producing at Universal Studios), New York Film Academy (Acting at Universal Studios), LAMDA (Acting) and City Lit College, London (Acting).

Mel Dodge Mel is an actress. Trained at ArtsEd, London, she is a freelance artist working in established New Zealand theatres. She also creates her own work. Mel is the THEATRE LIAISON for EAT.

Lawrence McDonald Lawrence is the CHAIR of the EAT board. He is an independent writer, editor, exhibition curator and teacher. Lawrence is the editor of the journal 'Illusions' which focuses on film and theatre. He has extensive experience working with Arts funding bodies.

Desiree Gezentzvey Desiree is a Venezualan born Kiwi writer, poet and artist. She has an MA in Creative Writing/Scriptwriting from the Victoria University of Wellington International Institute of Modern Letters.

Lawrence Green Lawrence Green is a leadership development specialist with over twenty years experience in developing people and twelve years experience in working with leaders and the challenges of leadership.

Lawrence is the director of his own consulting practice which specialises in delivering leadership solutions to the arts and creative industries; and is the founding director of FutureVision, an arts-focused community leadership centre.

He holds various qualifications including a Master of Commerce and Administration and a Master of Psychology (Human Social Sciences). He also has ten years experience as a teaching fellow at Victoria University of Wellington in Organisational Behaviour, with a particular focus on leadership.
